IIBA Harrisburg Chapter - October 2016 Meeting Recap

Our October 6th meeting was held  at the Linglestown Giant. We began with attendees mixing and enjoying  refreshments,  followed by Tim Kramer delivering his marquee presentation on starting a business analysis community of practice. The all-important door prize drawing came next, and our meeting ended with another opportunity for informal mixing.

The group enjoyed boneless chicken wings, vegetable crudités, cookies, and an assortment of beverages while mixing and networking.  One of the key benefits of the attending the local events is the opportunity to network with business analyst professionals in other companies.   One of our members made a contact for a job interview during our event.

Tim Kramer provided a very polished and professional presentation on his quest to start an enterprise business analysis community at his company.    He presented the business analysis issues and challenges, the benefits of forming a community, and the steps that had been taken to build the community, and future actions that he is planning.

Alan Yottey won the $25 Giant gift card door price.  Congratulations Alan!

You can find the slidedeck at the bottom of this link in Event Documents.

Attending the chapter's meetings is a great way to network with other BAs, continue your business analysis education, and further enhance your skills. For more information about future presentations, be sure to look at upcoming chapter meetings!
